TORONTO, Sept. 9, 2026 /CNW/ -- Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. today announced the launch of its first actively managed fixed income ETF, the Vanguard Global Core-Plus Bond ETF (TSX: VCOR), which will begin trading today on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
"As we strive to make Vanguard's specialized fixed income capabilities accessible to more investors, VCOR combines the resources of our global investment platform, a disciplined active process, and broad diversification across fixed income markets in a single ETF," said Sara Devereux, CIO, Vanguard Capital Management, Global Head of Vanguard Fixed Income Group. "VCOR builds on our existing fixed income offer in Canada to deliver a core-plus bond solution that supports long-term investment success."
Vanguard Global Core-Plus Bond ETF (TSX: VCOR)
Vanguard Global Core-Plus Bond ETF aims to provide advisors and investors with an actively managed, single-ticket fixed income solution at a low management fee of 0.25%. It applies Vanguard's strongest convictions across global rates, credit, and securitized markets, with a "core" allocation to investment-grade bonds, along with a "plus" component that allocates to higher-yielding bonds. It is managed by Vanguard Fixed Income Group, which oversees USD $1.2 trillion in active fixed income assets and includes over 150 investment professionals worldwide.
The fund is designed to serve as the centerpiece of a fixed income portfolio. The fund seeks to provide unitholders with total return while generating a moderate to high level of current income. The fund seeks to hedge its U.S.-dollar currency exposure back to the Canadian dollar and is expected to pay monthly distributions.
"Active ETFs have experienced significant growth in Canada and now account for approximately one-third of Canadian ETF assets. In particular, we continue to see strong advisor and investor demand for active global fixed income solutions that offer broader diversification and access to a wider opportunity set," said Sal D'Angelo, Head of Vanguard Canada. "Our new Global Core-Plus Bond ETF marks Vanguard Canada's first actively managed fixed income ETF. It brings the depth of Vanguard's global active fixed income expertise to Canadian investors at index-like management fees. Its low management fee gives the investment team a greater opportunity to add value through disciplined risk-taking, without needing to overcome a significant fee hurdle."
