Instead of fighting over limited power on the ground, Altucher believes Musk is doing something far more ambitious. He is moving the entire operation into space.
In orbit, sunlight is nearly constant and cooling is effectively free. Altucher describes it as a near-perfect environment for running artificial intelligence at a scale that would be almost impossible down here. No blackouts. No power bills. No limits.
It is, in his words, a way to sidestep AI's single biggest weakness entirely.
Why SpaceX May Not Be What You Think
The real story, he says, is what those rockets and satellites are quietly becoming: the foundation for artificial intelligence that runs from orbit. Seen that way, SpaceX starts to look less like a space company and more like one of the most important AI companies on Earth.
That shift in perspective, Altucher believes, is the piece nearly everyone is missing.
The One Piece Musk Doesn't Build Himself
Musk builds an astonishing amount in-house. The rockets. The satellites. The launch sites. But there is one critical piece he leans on an outside company to provide.
Altucher describes it as the connective tissue of the whole system, the technology that moves enormous amounts of data between space and the ground and keeps everything talking to each other. Without it, he explains, the satellites are just expensive hardware floating in orbit.
That supplier, he notes, is not some private startup locked away from ordinary investors. It is a publicly traded company that has quietly worked alongside Musk for years, and one almost no one is watching.

Throughout the presentation, Altucher frames this as an early moment in a much larger shift, the kind that has reshaped entire industries before the public caught on.
