Senspa Enters a New Era Under Local Ownership, Bringing the Ammortal Chamber to Northern California

The longtime Presidio spa unveils a refreshed brand, expanded treatment menu and Northern California's only Ammortal Chamber, with more evolution to come

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Senspa, the destination day spa rooted in San Francisco's Presidio for more than 20 years, is entering a new chapter under the ownership of husband and wife and longtime San Franciscans Kyle Withycombe and Stephany Lawrence. Building on the foundation that has made Senspa a trusted wellness destination for two decades, the new owners are introducing a refreshed brand, expanded treatments and new wellness technology, beginning with the arrival of the Ammortal Chamber, currently the only one of its kind in Northern California.

Ammortal

"Ammortal represents exactly where we see Senspa going," said Withycombe. "We want to pair the deeply personal, hands-on care Senspa is known for with thoughtful innovations in wellness. It's not about technology replacing human care. It's about expanding the ways we can support people."

Withycombe and Lawrence took ownership of Senspa with a personal connection to the business. Lawrence had been a Senspa client for years, drawn to its providers, sense of calm and longstanding approach to care. When the opportunity arose to take over the business, the couple saw the chance to preserve what has made Senspa special while thoughtfully investing in its future.

"We came into this with a lot of respect for what Senspa already is," said Lawrence. "There is an incredible team here and a community that has trusted Senspa for 20 years. Our goal isn't to change that foundation. It's to build on it and continue evolving the experience in ways that feel meaningful to our guests."

The couple brings complementary experience to Senspa. Withycombe has spent much of his career in health and wellness, including founding Vive Organic, while Lawrence has held HR leadership roles at mission-driven companies. After more than 15 years living in San Francisco, they were looking for an opportunity to invest their experience into a business rooted in their own community.

The Future of Wellness Arrives at Senspa

At the center of Senspa's first wave of new offerings is Ammortal, a futuristic wellness chamber that brings together five core modalities while integrating over 10 total non-invasive technologies in a single immersive experience. Senspa is bringing the Ammortal Chamber to Northern California as the first and only destination in the region to offer the technology.

Designed as an all-in-one mind and body experience, Ammortal incorporates technologies and modalities including multi-wave PEMF and PEF, red and near-infrared light, vibroacoustic sound, molecular hydrogen, guided breathwork and meditation, all experienced from a NASA-inspired zero-gravity position.

The result is a multi-sensory experience unlike anything Senspa has previously offered. Guests can choose from 25- or 50-minute sessions designed to create an immersive opportunity to slow down, reset and recover.

"Ammortal represents exactly where we see Senspa going," said Withycombe. "We want to pair the deeply personal, hands-on care Senspa is known for with thoughtful innovations in wellness. It's not about technology replacing human care. It's about expanding the ways we can support people."

A New Way to Navigate Care

The arrival of Ammortal coincides with a broader evolution of the Senspa brand. This September, Senspa debuted a refreshed visual identity and new website designed to better reflect its approach to modern wellness.

Senspa has also reimagined its treatment menu around three Pathways of Care: Regulation, Recovery and Longevity. Rather than organizing the experience solely by treatment type, the pathways are designed to help guests navigate services based on what they need in the moment and what they want to support over time.

While Ammortal marks the most significant new treatment addition, the refreshed menu also includes updated treatments and extended treatment times, with further expansion planned in the months ahead. New treatments and technologies will continue to be introduced across the three pathways, giving guests more ways to personalize their care over time.

The First of Many Changes to Come

The refreshed brand, treatment menu and arrival of Ammortal mark the beginning of a larger evolution planned for Senspa.

Withycombe and Lawrence are continuing to gather input from both guests and the Senspa team as they shape what comes next. Future plans include further additions to the spa's treatments and technology, as well as an interior refresh in 2027 that will thoughtfully update the physical space while preserving the sense of calm and familiarity longtime guests value.

"This is the first of many ways we're evolving the Senspa experience," said Lawrence. "We want Senspa to continue to feel like the place people have loved for years, while also becoming a place where they can discover what's next in wellness."

Through it all, Senspa's longtime team and commitment to individualized care remain at the center of the experience.
