COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 21, 2026): Mountain Springs Church (MSC) is spotlighting the Restoration Woodshop, a hands-on volunteer ministry that builds handcrafted bunk beds for children in the Colorado Springs area who currently do not have a bed of their own. The woodshop is part of the church's MSC Family Restoration Center, a hub of local missions efforts that also includes an aquaponic garden, a counseling center, and the Fresh Start Center.

Established in 2023 as the newest addition to the Family Restoration Center, the Restoration Woodshop operates out of a modern, well-equipped workspace at the center's Adventure Way campus. Volunteers there build complete bed frames, which are paired with a mattress and color-coordinated linens before being delivered to children in need throughout the city. For many of these children, it is the first bed they have ever slept in.

Each bed frame carries a branded message that reflects the heart of the ministry: "You are Seen, You are Known, You are Loved." Beyond the beds themselves, the woodshop is designed as a mentoring space, giving adult volunteers the chance to work alongside kids and teens in a safe, encouraging environment where woodworking skills are passed down alongside a sense of purpose and belonging.

"This is more than building furniture. It's about showing a child that someone sees them and cares enough to build something with their own hands," said a Mountain Springs Church spokesperson. "Every bed frame that leaves our shop carries that message with it."

The Restoration Woodshop is currently recruiting volunteers with an interest or background in woodworking, as well as those simply willing to learn. No prior experience is required to get involved, and opportunities exist both for hands-on shop volunteers and for those interested in leadership roles within the ministry.
