Following his spectacular 100-foot straitjacket escape in Appleton, Wisconsin, Houdini II will perform another death-defying live escape—this time 90 feet above the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- African American magician and escape artist Houdini II will perform on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 8 a.m., honoring the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini's death.
Suspended roughly nine stories above the ground, Houdini II will attempt one of the most terrifying and dramatic escapes of his career, with no airbag or protective landing system beneath him. As a gesture promoting social unity, peace, and global harmony, he will throw $1,000 from the sky.
His past feats include jumping from Miami's MacArthur Bridge into Biscayne Bay bound with ropes and chains, and escaping from a submerged coffin-like wooden box before shocking spectators by reappearing behind the audience.
This performance will mark the first time an African American escape artist has performed a live escape in front of the world's most elite magic venue.
Houdini II recently completed a 10-month tour promoting his documentary, "Houdini II: A Beautiful Day to Die," with screenings in Berlin, London, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and the Carolinas, concluding at Brooklyn's Bushwick Film Festival.
Houdini II travels nationwide, incorporating magic into his presentations as one of the country's most sought-after keynote and motivational speakers.
