The Globe's 2026 Health Equity Summit will convene and connect leading health and life science ecosystem leaders, medical experts, journalists, and community advocates in conversations focused on reducing health disparities and fostering more inclusive care in Massachusetts and beyond.

"Massachusetts is recognized for having one of the best health care systems in the nation, yet persistent health disparities remind us how much more work lies ahead," said Erika Hale Smith, Vice President of Events & Sponsorships, Boston Globe Media. "In its third year, we're proud to convene the Health Equity Summit, and bring together an extraordinary community of advocates, health care leaders, and award‑winning journalists for essential conversations that can help translate insight into meaningful, systemic change."

Programming will include fireside chats with key medical experts innovating on this issue, including Dr. Uché Blackstock, the founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equity, Dr. Kiame Mahaniah, the Health & Human Services Secretary of Massachusetts, and Dr. Khameer Kidia, writer, physician, and anthropologist. Panel sessions include:

  • Global Health in the Post-USAID Landscape
  • Bridging the Cancer Equity Gap
  • Fixing the Massachusetts Maternal Health Crisis
  • Delivering Equitable Care for Historically Marginalized Communities

Boston Globe journalists, including Mara Kardas-Nelson, Jason Laughlin, Jeneé Osterheldt, Sarah Rahal, and Marin Wolf, will lead fireside chats with key guests and moderate panels with experts. Read their work on health equity at Globe.com.

"Advancing health equity isn't optional, it's essential to achieving better outcomes for everyone. As we mark America's 250th and more than 50 years of biotech innovation, we're reminded that progress only matters if it's shared," said Tanisha M. Sullivan, Head of External Engagement & Health Equity Strategy, Sanofi. "That's why we are proud to partner with The Boston Globe for the third year to present the 2026 Health Equity Summit as a reflection of our commitment to move from intention to impact, championing solutions that help ensure people have access to the diagnosis, care, and treatment they need to thrive."

The Boston Globe 2026 Health Equity Summit is presented by Sanofi. Sponsors include CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Eliot, and Johnson & Johnson. The Summit is produced in partnership with BioTech Tuesday!, Harvard Biotech Club, Health Equity Compact, and Kendall Square Association. Non-profit partners include Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn, HEADStrong Foundation, Massachusetts ME/CFS & FM Association, Massachusetts Sickle Cell Association, Seeding Labs, The Beautiful Way Foundation, and The Family Van.

Space is limited for in-person attendance. Register today to join the conversation about creating a more equitable healthcare landscape. The Summit will also be available via livestream for virtual registrants. View all recorded sessions after the event at YouTube.com/@BostonGlobeEvents.
