Ceremony culminates Blood Cancer Awareness Month and highlights that treatment advances have saved nearly 26 million years of life over the past 75 years

NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Blood Cancer United^®, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, rang the Nasdaq Stock Market Closing Bell today in Times Square to culminate Blood Cancer Awareness Month and celebrate a powerful milestone in creating more time for patients.

The ceremony celebrated the extraordinary progress made for people affected by blood cancer since the organization's founding in 1949. A Blood Cancer United-led analysis published this month in Blood Advances found that advances in blood cancer treatment have helped save nearly 26 million years of life, translating decades of scientific progress into something universally meaningful to patients and families: more time.
